What can I say... That really sums it all up in a nutshell dosn't it? The spoon theory does seem to fit with what I understand of debilitating illnesses, but it really hammers the message home about how much everything can affect everyday life. I highly recomend anyone who is a member but (like me) does not suffer from conditions like EDS, CFS or Fibromyalgia reads that

Glad you two liked the Spoon Theory. I shared it with my counselor last week and she loved it!

My psychologist thought it was brilliant My last counselor criticized it and seemed slightly offended "But healthy people don't have unlimited spoons!"

While it is true we don't have unlimited spoons, we do tend to have a drawer full with several in reserve - put it like this I Have done some stupid shifts at work (my longest ever being 72 or so hours... true I did sleep during it but that is beside the point :P sleeping in the front seat of a van isn't good sleep.) My longest time without sleep due to work was about 48 hours It's quite an interesting story which I promise to tell sometime but this isn't the right thread for it ^_^ But yeah (I swear when I'm tired I get sidetracked too easily) while we may not have unlimited spoons we do have an awful lot more - I just wish I could share some of mine out...

Thanks for posting that Gwen.
I think that is going to help a lot of people who are trying to learn about EDS, etc.
