Welcome To EDS-Kids
EDS Kids is a support group and community dedicated to helping children and young adult who suffer from chronic pain resulting from illnesses and genetic conditions like Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and Fibromyalgia. Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS for short) is a genetic connective tissue disorder which primarily causes chronic joint pain and joint dislocations. EDS Kids is a community dedicated to helping not only sufferers of EDS but their family and friends too.

I'm home from the hospital.
So I had surgery yesterday and all went well and I came home last night. They were able to do it lapriscopically, so that was wonderful. When they took out my gallbladder they found adhesions on it which indicated that there has been inflammation. This really points in the direction that it is my gallbladder that was causing my problems. So that was really good news. The doctor can't say for sure if it really was the gallbladder, but he really felt like it was.

He also put in permanent sutures in all my incisions instead of dissolvable ones so that there is less of a risk of me having a hernia from my slow/weird skin healing stuff. I'm feeling pretty good. My stomach is uncomfortable, but not horribly painful. The worst thing is changing position from laying to sitting...man is that hard work My tummy doesn't look too horrible, I just have some oozing that is going on with my incisions still, but thats all normal.

(((hugs))) Glad you're not in pain. I was in terrible pain after my gallbladder was removed!

I am feeling pretty darn good. I'm still very tired, but I seem to be healing nicely. My tummy looks like someone beat it with a baseball bat at the moment, but its feeling ok.

Staci, I am so happy for you that you are healing so quickly! I was still in a lot of pain at this point lol. (I started feeling better about 2 weeks post surgery)

wow I'm glad that I'm recovering more quickly than you are Gwen. That sounds horrible. My tummy is still very tender, but I actually feel good. I have an appetite and I really haven't had one of those for almost 2 years. and I'm not nauseated like I was. Considering my track record with surgery, I'm surprised that I'm doing as good as I am.
