Hey
So I had an appt on Monday with one of my consultants and one thing she mentioned was getting me to start applying for DLA, she said it wouldnt be easy though...but I'm up for the fight!! Just wondered if any of you claim DLA? (Disability Living Allowance)

Personally, I don't have it. But my mum has a rare disease aswell, and she does get this as she cannot work.

I've got a job that's bank hours - so basically as and when. Which is good when I'm having a rough patch because I won't need to worry about being at work. My consultant said I wont be able to work full time so I kinda need to get DLA or something like it to be able to do grown up things like have my own place to live etc :)

I do not have DLA, because the stupid state of Maryland won't grant me social security benefits or anything. :( UGH.

I have DLA which got turned down the first time but my Gp suggested I sent for a re consideration and i got it. so if you dont get it the first time i would definatley say it is worth asking for a re consideration
